Plug your microcontroller running CircuitPython into your computer. It should appear as a USB storage device. Don't unplug it if it's already plugged in
Regenerate the code by clicking the ⟳ button
Right click the download button (🠣) and choose "Save link as..."
Save the file as code.py on the USB storage device
To save your work so you can edit it later, click the save button (🖫). To load it, click the load button (🗁). You must load code and generate python to use your code on your microcontroller.
